123 HP Deskjet 1016 Printer

Overview

The Deskjet line consists of two compact color inkjet printers designed to handle a low volume of 50 to 400 pages per month which is perfect for a home office or student’s room. If you need a few copies for your school or work, deskjet will do the job. If you want to scan a favorite picture and print some copies for friends, having a Deskjet printer is a convenient and cost-effective way to accomplish this. There are two convenient models: the basic printer which only has the print functionality and the all-in-one model that prints, copies, and scans. Both printers are easily transportable because of their small size and light weight. They are also fast enough to print seven copies per minute. The all-in-one model also offers convenient wireless printing.

Design

123 HP Deskjet 1016 Troubleshooting

Make sure you never overfill the paper tray
* Do not add paper, while the printer is working.
* Wait until you get the ‘Out of Paper’ message before you add paper to the tray.
* Remove the printed paper from the tray frequently.
* Ensure that the paper loaded into the tray is laid properly; and the edges of the paper are not folded or torn.
* Do not combine different types or sizes of paper, the entire stack of paper on the tray should be of the same type.
* The paper width guides should be spaced in such a way that they do not bend the paper between them.
* Any paper jammed in your printer should be removed with your hand. Do not use any tool or device.

There are several possibilities here,
1.The printer may not be connected to the network. To solve this,
* Print a Wireless Network Test Report from the printer’s control panel to check if there are any connection issues shown at the top of the report.
* If no issues are shown on the Report, try accessing the Printer’s Homepage. To do this, find the printer’s IP address from the report and type that into a web browser. If you can’t access the Homepage, try restarting the printer and your router and try again.
2.Your computer may no longer be connected to the same network as your printer. To solve this, * Open your web browser and type the printer's IP address in the address box of the browser, to access the printer's home page. If you cannot open this page then your computer and printer are connected to the same network.
3.Your firewall or antivirus may be blocking the printer. Disable this by clicking ‘Always allow’ for HP products, in the pop ups shown by the firewall.
4. Your wireless router may not be working properly.
5. The IP address of your printer may have changed, in this case, the software has to be updated with the changed IP address.
To do so:
For Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7:
* Start --> Programs --> HP --> {printer 5535} --> Update IP Address.
For Windows 8/8.1: * Launch the printer software from the Start screen.
* Select ‘Utilities’ on the top of the Printer Software screen
* Select Update IP address and enter the new IP address.

Some of the common causes for these distorted outputs are:
* Static interference
* Loose USB cable or power cord connection
*Fingerprints, smudges, lint, or dust on the scanner glass
* Dirt or debris on the scanner lid or inside the printer
* Scratched or damaged scanner glass
* Poor internal connections
* Damaged or faulty scanner bulb or parts
To avoid these distorted outputs, always keep the printer, especially the scanner components, clean. If the problem persists even after thorough cleaning, then reset the printer.
